Parent & Baby session (0-2 years)

 

Our parent and baby session is a wonderful opportunity for parents and/or carers to come and socialise with other climbers and their babies.  

 

This session is designed for very young climbers aged 0-2. We utilise the kids room, and provide lots of fun stimuli and opportunity for interaction. Your wee one is too little to climb (or even crawl?!), no problem, we still encourage you to come along.  

​

These supervised sessions run form 1000-1130am on Friday mornings, and there is no need to pre-book.  This is a low pressure session, so don’t worry if you arrive late, or need to leave early, you are always welcome. 

 

Please note that parents/carers must be registered as a member with Eden Rock and sign themselves and their little one in.  The cost per baby is just £1.00.

 

Parent & Toddler session (3-4 years)

 

Our parent and toddler class is a weekly session organised and run by one of our instructors. These sessions will be designed to familiarise children with the indoor climbing environment in a safe and structured manner.  Children of ages 3 & 4 are welcome to join with their parent/carer.  These sessions will run for one hour from 1030-1130 on Wednesday mornings.  

 

The cost of the session is the standard entry fee for children (£6.50), with no charge for adults (unless you will stay and climb afterwards).  Parents and toddlers must be registered to take part in the session, and adults must be registered as members.

Minions (5-6 years)

 

Minions classes are a great introduction to climbing for little ones. The kids are supervised by one of our coaches and learn about climbing in a safe environment through games and activities.

​

Minions last for 30 minutes and cost £10 per session, payable at time of booking.

 

 

 

Taster Sessions

​

If your youngster has never climbed before and would like to try it, then a taster session is a perfect introduction to the sport. These sessions are supervised by one of our friendly instructors, who will carefully tailor the session with just the right balance of fun, challenge and achievement.

Taster sessions last for 60minutes (for children 7+) and cost £15 per person.

Ages 5-7 - Pre-NICAS

​

NICAS is the 'National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme'; a kind of syllabus for learning how to become a safe and proficient boulderer. Our Pre-NICAS sessions are block booked classes for kids who are a bit too young to start NICAS, but who are really keen to learn and improve their climbing skills!

​

Pre-NICAS sessions last for 60minutes and cost £12 per session. The sessions are payable as a block at the beginning of each school term.

Ages 7-17 - NICAS

​

NICAS is the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme; a kind of syllabus for learning how to become a safe and proficient boulderer. Our NICAS sessions are block booked classes for kids who are really keen to learn and improve their climbing skills! The NICAS awards take kids from how to safely use a bouldering wall in level 1, all the way through to learning how to training for competitions at level 5.

On completion of each level, we award successful candidates with a certificate.

​

NICAS sessions last for 60minutes and cost £12 per session. The sessions are payable as a block at the beginning of each school term. A NICAS logbook is £7.50 and can be purchased at the beginning of your youngster's first session. Classes are divided by age, with different NICAS classes for 7-13 year olds, and 13-17 year olds.

1to1 Coaching

 

Our expert coaches offer bespoke sessions for all climbers - whether it's to help build a little extra confidence, to practice a particular skill, to train for the next big competition, or simply because you learn better 1to1.

​

As 1to1 sessions are tailored to the individual, they vary in duration, with prices starting from £20/hr depending on the level of coaching required.

14-17 Year Old Induction/Assessment sessions

 

14-17 year olds may become junior members of Eden Rock provided that they can demonstrate safe, responsible use of the bouldering wall. Youngsters in this age range may climb unsupervised at the centre on completion of either a competency assessment. Any youngster seeking to become a junior member must be brought to their assessment session by a parent or guardian.

​

Assessment sessions last approximately 30 minutes and cost £17.50 for an individual, or £25 per person for a 1hr induction.

​

Note - these sessions are an assessment of competence and responsible use of the facilities. Should a youngster not meet the required standard for safety, the instructor will provide guidance on next steps. Please also note that youngsters who gain junior memberships cannot supervise junior climbers or novices, and will have their unsupervised access revoked if they fail at any point to adhere to the conditions of use.

Youth Team & Mini Crushers

 

Our coaching team also offers sessions for elite junior climbers. Entry to these sessions is by invite only and via team trials which run several times per year.
